Abstract

The importance of the research is that it provides information about the trait of psychological stress in the learner, which contributes to knowing his behaviors in learning situations and may give a psychological indicator of those behaviors, which provides us with a better understanding of the learner's personality, and this contributes to the process of their psychological preparation. The research aimed to measure psychological stress among third-level female students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences - University of Thi Qar, as well as to identify the degree of psychological stress and its relationship to the performance of some basic skills on the floor movement mat in artistic gymnastics for female students. The research sample was selected, represented by third-level female students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences - University of Thi Qar for the academic year 2024-2025 AD, and the researcher used the descriptive approach using the correlation method. The most important conclusions were the existence of a significant inverse correlation between psychological stress and the performance of some basic skills on the floor movement mat in artistic gymnastics for female students.
