THE ROLE OF OIL REVENUES IN ENHANCING THE IRAQI ECONOMY

Abstract

         The current research deals with the role of oil revenues in enhancing the Iraqi economy and it analyzes the effect of these revenues on the various aspects of economic and social life in the country. The research pivots on the challenges that encounter the Iraqi economy as this economy depends considerably on the oil exports. The research also focuses on the necessity of diversifying the income sources and enhancing the management and the effective investment of these revenues. The research involves recommendations about consolidating the transparency, fighting the corruption, improving the infrastructure, encouraging the investments, developing sustainable policies and emphasizing the international cooperation as an apparatus to ensure the sustainable development in Iraq and to consolidate the economic stability.
